Terms of Service & Legal Notice

By visiting our site and/or purchasing products from Slate Trek, you engage in our "Service" and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, including all additional policies referenced herein.

1. Governing Law

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by, interpreted, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Queensland (QLD), Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

2. Technical Specifications & Brand Clarification

We endeavor to present accurate product descriptions, extended lengths, weight specifications, and pricing. Independent Trail Equipment Brand Notice: Slate Trek is an independent designer and retailer of backcountry trekking equipment. Slate Trek is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Black Diamond, Leki, Komperdell, Cascade Mountain Tech, or MSR. Any comparative references are made strictly for functional specification, locking mechanism clarity, and consumer guidance. Slate Trek reserves the right to correct any inadvertent inaccuracies at any time without prior notice.

3. Carbon Fiber Load Limits, Leverage Warning & Trail Safety Advisory

CARBON FIBER USAGE & LATERAL LEVERAGE WARNING: Trekking poles are designed specifically for axial load support (downward bodyweight distribution to relieve knees and ankles while hiking); they are not designed to be used as pry bars, climbing anchors, or to bear excessive sideways bending loads when wedged between boulders or deep tree roots. Wedging carbon fiber shafts into rock fissures while continuing forward motion can snap or splinter the composite shafts. Always inspect quick-lock clamp levers and tighten thumb tensioners before steep descents to prevent unexpected shaft collapse. Stop Line Notice: Never extend pole sections beyond the printed "STOP" or "MAX" indicators. Slate Trek is not liable for shaft breakage caused by levering wedged poles, injuries resulting from loose clamp slippage, or accidents occurring in severe alpine or off-trail conditions.
